近期，金屬所周延春研究員被任命為美國陶瓷學會工程陶瓷部的國際委員會（International Committee of Engineering Ceramic Division, the American Ceramic Society）主席。該委員會由7位國際知名專家組成，其宗旨是為美國陶瓷學會工程陶瓷部執行委員會提供全球發展趨勢的報告，并為每年在美國Daytona Beach舉行的陶瓷與復合材料國際會議的內容和方向提出建議。

　　金屬所周延春研究員是美國陶瓷學會會員，世界陶瓷科學院院士，美國陶瓷學會雜志（Journal of the American Ceramic Society）和國際應用陶瓷技術雜志（International Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology）編委（associate editor），材料科學與技術雜志（Journal of Materials Science & Technology）常務副主編。他還參與組織了美國陶瓷學會、亞太地區等很多國際會議或擔任其國際顧問委員會/科學委員會的成員。
